Orange Grove program invites faculty, staff!
What is the Orange Grove?
It serve as the perfect place for Syracuse University’s faculty and staff to leave their permanent mark at the heart of campus; the Office of Alumni Relations and the Office of Development have announced a partnership that will enable SU faculty and staff to participate in the Orange Grove via a simple payroll deduction process.
“The Orange Grove is a place for all of us who love the University--astudents, alumni, faculty, staff, friends or anyone else who is an SU enthusiast,” says Lil Breul O’Rourke ’77, associate vice president for alumni relations. “The Orange Grove committee’s goal is for anyone who ‘bleeds orange’ to be a included in this new tradition and become part of a permanent landmark. Those of us fortunate enough to work here will benefit in another way; every day, we’ll be able to enjoy the beauty of this welcoming outdoor space situated at a focal point of this campus.”
Gifts to the Orange Grove are tax-deductible, and may be paid in a variety of ways; the Alumni Relations/Development initiative adds the ability for faculty and staff to have the cost of an engraved Orange Grove paver deducted from their payroll automatically. To participate, interested members of the University community should contact Pauline Saraceni in the Office of Alumni Affairs at 443-3408.
